Toi Toi garden flows around our elevated 1950s brick house, which looks across a stream to stunning rural views. Careful editing of trees has given us more light, and allowed us to extend the lawn and garden. The house now overlooks garden beds full of roses, rhododendrons, irises, euphorbia and agapanthus, and other tough plants which love our climate.
Between the garden beds, brick steps aligned with Cyprus trees lead you down over a bridge, to reach a lovely walk lined with blossom trees. Buxus, Teucrium and Escallonia hedges have been used to create the many garden areas. Some garden beds are bordered with Grey Wacke rocks carted down from the hill.
We have planted a native area and created a lovely winding path down to the pond and beyond. Here a cluster of silver birch trees with their white trunks, underplanted with white daisies, is a beautiful sight to see.
We enjoy the peace and tranquility of this beautiful garden and we look forward to sharing it with you.

You will be guided through the process of building the upright frame and weaving a spiral 3-rod ‘wale’. Tamar will support you every step of the way, whether you're a complete beginner or have some experience.
Willow weaving is a wonderful and meditative craft that allows you to connect with nature and tradition. Please note that this workshop will involve some standing, moving around, and a bit of hand strength.
Bring secateurs, an apron, and a vehicle large enough to transport your obelisk home.
The workshop lasts 3.5 hours and is limited to 8 students. The cost is $125 including garden entry.
