Deep Roots, Delightful Twists

Hosts: Craig Patterson and Michelle Holland

Address: 194 Lawcocks Road, RD1 Amberley

Brackenbank’s 1-hectare garden, was created in the mid-1980s by renowned gardener, Helen Russell, with the dedicated support of her husband Don, whose skilled hands built many of the landscape structures in the garden that remain today.

When we took the reins—garden novices and weekend warriors —we set out to honour their legacy while introducing a few small touches of our own.

Whether you’re drawn to a rambling country garden, playful garden art, established trees, the peacefulness of Japanese design, the charm of a French courtyard, or the vibrant beauty of a picking garden, there’s something here for everyone to enjoy

The garden is perfect place to roam and meander, with a pond full of goldfish and quiet nooks waiting for you to sit and relax.

We can’t wait to welcome you. There are a few parts of the garden that are still being restored so perhaps you can help us with inspiration and ideas as we keep nurturing it into something even more magical for future generations.

Come for a wander, stay for the charm, and don’t forget to say hello to the fish!
