Hurunui Garden Festival Scholarship

The Hurunui Garden Festival is proud to support education through its scholarship programme. Each year, subject to the festival’s outcomes, a scholarship will be offered to a student residing in the Hurunui District, with the level of support determined annually.

This scholarship is intended to support study in horticulture, agriculture, landscape design, or a related field, at a university or institute of technology of the recipient’s choice.

2025 Recipient of the Rodin Cars Hurunui Garden Festival Scholarship

We are thrilled to announce the recipient of the 2025 Scholarship is Mark Privaldos.

Mark is a former Amuri Area School pupil and is heading to Wellington in 2026 to study architecture .  

Mark Privaldos, aged 18 in 2025 and who lives in Hanmer Springs, was  born in the Philippines, but came to New Zealand in 2016, aged eight.

Mark is planning to study for his Bachelor of Architectural Studies degree at the Victoria University of Wellington and then stay on for his master's degree.
