Maskells Garden
180 Maskells Road, Amberley
Blooms in Spring
Hosts: Juliet & David Hunter
Address: 180 Maskells Road, Amberley
Our 2 acre garden sits on gentle rolling slopes - a 33 year labour of love and a hidden gem of the Hurunui. Designed to work with nature, the garden bursts with colour, texture and life all year round, meandering into different levels with some lovely sheltered areas.
Spring is when we truly shine. A shaded loop walk winds through our camellia collection, revealing lush greenery, the last of the camellia blooms and quiet spots perfect for pausing and taking in the expansive views to the north and Mt Grey.
The garden meanders through different levels with some lovely sheltered areas. We have a native area with a varied collection of New Zealand plants, as well as a canary aviary overlooking an extensive and productive vege patch. Mature trees, an orchard, roses and perennials all co-exist happily together.
This is a garden with soul: relaxed, naturalistic, rich in biodiversity and full of bird life.
We have a good selection of great value plants for sale - come and take a little inspiration home with you!!!
We love sharing our garden, our stories and our passion for growing things. We welcome you and are freely available to discuss all things plants and gardens. Come and explore!
