Garden & Woolshed
The Tipapa garden, with its sweeping lawns and grand trees, is open free of charge, and the historic woolshed can also be explored at no cost. Bring a picnic and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.Stephen Smith and Jude Flintoft purchased the now 12-acre property in late 2018, two years after the 2016 earthquake. All eleven chimneys had imploded internally, and the clearing of bricks was very labour intensive.
Their emphasis has been on restoration rather than renovation, in honouring the craftsmanship of the original builders who worked with hand tools only.
Steve and Jude welcome visitors to explore the house and grounds at their leisure
